Liquor Spotlight #2

Today I have have a new set of drinks to present! This time I'm changing it up a bit, by trying to show cocktails or mixed drinks that I think go well with some of these liquors. Hope you enjoy!
__________
  • First, its a bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey. This type of whiskey is made from malted and unmalted "green" Irish barley which is then dried in an oven. It is then tripled distilled in order to have a super smooth flavor. While not as overpowering as other whiskeys like Jack Daniels, Jameson does have a kick to it!
Jameson is an awesome liquor for a reasonable
price, you won't regret your purchase
__________
  • A second whiskey for tonight is Buchanan's Blended Scotch Whiskey, in this case aged for 12 years. Compared to Jameson this one has a much stronger flavor but is smoother as well. It has what I describe as an overall manly taste. Scotch whiskey is considered by many to be the finest whiskey around. Best? I'm not sure but it sure is tasty. One other thing to note though, compared to other whiskeys, this one is actually on the more expensive end of liquors.

To drink both the Buchanan's and Jameson I would recommend straight up shots (the colder the better) or mixing the shot with cranberry juice. Drop the cheap Vodka for once and mix with whiskey, its so worth it!

Try this combination with Jameson as well!
__________
  • Up next is what I think of an extremely unique drink. Jägermeister is 70% proof made with 56 herbs and spices. These ingredients are seeped in the alcohol for a couple of days, then stored in oak barrels for a year and filtered out at the end. There have even been rumors Jägermeister conains deer or elk blood, of course not true.

The taste for this liquor is overwhelmingly that of black liquorice so I would not recommend taking straight shots, instead drop the shot into a glass of Red Bull or Monster to make a Jager bomb! I personally prefer Monster in mine, but I decided to mix it up a little for this one.

__________
  • These next two spirits are not "hardcore" but pretty yummy nonetheless. This cool blue drink called Hpnotiq is actually a liqueur because it is a blend of vodka, fruit juices, and cognac. This blend is extremely sweet so I would not reccomend straight shots of this stuff, it is a really good mixer though!

A more ominous picture to match its name

My favorite drink to make with Hpnotiq is mixing a shot of it with pineapple juice. This results in a fruity tropical flavored drink, with a cool color gradient, and is pretty low in alcohol content so you can sip on these all night.

_________
  • Lastly for today I have one of my favorite spirits, Kahlua Coffee Liqueur French Vanilla. Kahlua is a flavored rum, the original is in my opinion tastier but the French Vanilla version is good for mixing as well. While the alcohol content isn't very high according to the bottle, you can definitely taste the alcohol in your mixed drinks.

Arguable the best drink ever, the White Russian is made with Kahlua, some Vodka (optional) and creamer (Half & Half or milk work as well) for a refreshing and unique drink. Nobody really expects to have a coffee flavored drink at parties so it is a nice addition to anyone's collection.

_________

That is all for today thanks for stopping by, until next time!
